Sensory Friendly Event at the Santa Fe Zoo

The Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo is becoming a sensory-inclusive certified zoo, and will hold a special event for children on the autism spectrum Saturday, Sept. 28, from 9 – 11 a.m.

Quiet Time at the Zoo will include interactive sensory stations and quiet zones, animal encounters, keeper talks, training demonstrations and community resources for individuals on the autism spectrum.picture of zoo monkey

Domino’s Pizza will also have pizza and drinks available for purchase.

The SF Teaching Zoo will provide noise-dampening headphones, comfort kits, and zookeepers trained by staff at the University of Florida Center for Autism and Related Disabilities to support the needs of attendees.
